Manage sites and sharing
Update domains, control privacy settings, and create read-only public dashboards.
Most ongoing administration in Callra happens on a site's Settings page.
Update site basics
Each site lets you change:
- site name
- timezone
- whether the browser runtime, tracker bootstrap, and collector respect DNT and GPC
Use the timezone that matches how your team reads traffic reports.
Manage allowed domains
Callra accepts analytics requests only from the hostnames attached to the site.
Use allowed domains to:
- keep one site limited to the correct app or website
- add new production or marketing hostnames safely
- reject traffic that comes from the wrong origin
Examples:
app.example.comwww.example.comdocs.example.com
If you add a new hostname and see no traffic, double-check that the hostname matches exactly what visitors use.
Decide when to create a new site
Create a separate site when you want analytics isolated across:
- different products
- a docs site versus an application
- separate customer-facing brands
- teams that should not share the same dashboard
If you only need to split staging from production, an environment label is often enough.
Script installation model
Callra serves one shared script.js file for all sites.
Each install selects the destination site with data-site-id, so the script can stay cache-friendly while domains and privacy rules still apply per site.
Site roles and sensitive actions
Callra currently uses three site roles:
- Owner: can manage members, integrations, agent tokens, release configuration, and delete the site.
- Admin: can manage most operational settings such as general site settings, domains, public sharing, releases, and integrations.
- Viewer: read-only access to dashboards and release investigation pages.
If someone only needs analytics visibility, use Viewer. Keep Owner for the person who should control destructive or security-sensitive actions.
Enable or disable public sharing
Callra can generate a shareable public dashboard URL for a site.
Public sharing is useful when someone needs read-only access to aggregate trends but should not have access to the full dashboard.
The public dashboard includes aggregate metrics such as:
- pageviews
- visitors
- sessions
- bounce rate
- average visit duration
- top pages
- referrers
- countries
- devices
- browsers
It does not expose site settings or the private recent-events view.
Delete a site carefully
Deleting a site revokes any share token and starts background cleanup for its data.
Delete only when you are sure the site is no longer needed.
If a site should remain in historical reports but stop collecting new data, removing the snippet from the tracked app is usually safer than deleting the site.
